AFO AKOM
Afo Akom
On the back is the Afo-A-Kom, the sacred statue of the Kom kingdom in Cameroon's North West. Carved from iroko and covered in beads, it stands for unity, leadership and the continuity of the Kom line. It was stolen in 1966 and brought home in 1973, and remains a symbol of pride for the Kom people.
